Editing subtasks in task window
complete
Desiree Wilcox
Within a task, when assigning subtasks, we used to be able to edit the subtask while viewing all of them at the same time - there were 4 options: duplicate, trash, calendar, person. We liked this because we use subtasks as tasks a lot, and need to assign all parts of the project on that view so we can see the process & people assigned as a whole.

We've released a new feature to Flow X which will allow you to edit a subtask's assignee or due date from the parent task window so you no longer have to open subtasks individually in order to edit these attributes. We're also planning on following up this feature with further improvements including adding a ••• menu to subtask cards in parent task windows from which you'll be able to delete and duplicate a subtask.

edit subtask view
Kat Zarfas
When trying to mark a subtask done, it is very easy to accidentally click the text and open the subtask into edit view. Then I have to figure out how to get back to the task and scroll back down to the subtasks. Is it possible to make it like the old version? Previously, you could edit the title of the subtask in line or click some kind of "Edit" prompt to add more details like due date. This would be vastly preferable and less disruptive to workflow.

Thanks for this suggestion @Kat Zarfas! We'll be reviewing this option with the team and update this post when we have news.

This is great feedback! Thank you @Desiree Wilcox. I agree that this can and should be improved. We have a few ideas here – from making the date and assignee's avatar clickable on subtasks (so that you can edit them inline when viewing the parent task) to adding a more advanced ••• menu to subtasks. We'll keep you updated as that work progresses.
