How could we improve Flow?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Incude “Section” title in the search results

This is simple request… when doing a search, please add “section” titles to the query

for example… if you had a list of tasks for painting the house… and a section for each room… then if you had a task for “paint swatches to check color” and you had several of those tasks, each one for a different room (bedroom, kitchen, etc.)… I’d like if I could search for “bedroom swatch” and have it pull up the task “paint swatches to check color” that was in the bedroom section…

I know we could use tags to help with this… but…

    • Follow-up satisfaction surveys for tasks

We would like to have some sort of randomly generated email (or task to send such) to a person involved with the flow once completed.

Ex: The task assigned to me of 'replace John's computer' could either generate an email to John once completed, or prompt a task to send a survey to john. Once he fills in the survey, we could pull up the results and aggregate them with other results to see how well an employee is doing.

Very interesting. Seems to me like you’re looking to follow up with the people helped by the task to see how well it was done. Makes a lot of sense for when Flow is used as a ticketing system. This isn’t on our roadmap to improve, but we’ll keep an eye on this sort of request.

      • Safari share extension

Ability to add an email task to flow using a safari share extension. Similar to the wunderlist share extension, it would be great to have a flow share extension to add a task to flow from any browser tab.

        • Lock list pane open

Just a minor annoyance: sometimes I'm trying to click a project and I end up hiding the list pane and need to unhide it before continuing. It doesn't happen a lot, but I expect for some users at my org with less mouse precision it'll be more of an issue. It'd be nice to have a lock button that forces the panel to stay open while locked.

While we don’t plan to create a locking mechanism for the list pane, we are working on changes that will reduce missclicks.

          • Remove min-width on window

When viewing the app in split-screen mode, I have to scroll horizontally. This is very inconvenient.

E.g. on a 21" screen with 2 apps splitscreen 50-50, Flow does not fit :(

              • Dashboard - Add links to to years and months

I love the layout of the dashboard! And it's useful to be able to scroll down to get a snapshot look at everything that's been updated/done by date. One suggestion is to add a list of links for years and months so that way the user can select a certain month and be brought down to that section rather than having to scroll. Here's a screenshot of where it might go: http://screencast.com/t/PxISZAYW

And here's an example from a Word Press blog on what I mean about the links: http://screencast.com/t/xV7t6A1DVrMp

                • Group list

Click on a group shows all the tasks in each of the subproject, but the order seems to choose the top of each section and then the next row etc etc, which is weird.

I would expect that it would show the first section then next. Although having that last section from right to left would be best, when you consider the kanban you go left to right so the most finished things should be at the top in the list… if that makes sense.

Thanks for the suggestion! We are not planning any major changes to Kanban right now but I will let the team know your suggestion!

                  • Two-way Calendar sync

Is this something you plan to do? So I don’t have to be in Flow to make a calendar change?

                    • Add description to group/folder

Adding descriptions to folders (now groups) would be useful when you're using a group as a category for tasks. This might be catered for with parent tasks.
When I'm creating a bunch of tasks (say for a newsletter) and there are three people working on it, I want to be able to explain what the group of tasks is - not just the tasks themselves.

                      Cheers
                      Ben

                      • Organization Notes

Just like task notes or project notes, team notes would allow you to provide a description and files to items at the Group, Team, or Organization level.
