I like the new subtasks (and refreshed UI), thanks Flow. However, was hoping for a bit more than just a simple check list. Something along the line of how Todoist handles it, where essentially every task can be turned into a subtask, including separate due dates, comments, files, assignees, etc.
Is that something that's planned?187 votes
This project was kicked off today.
We often need tasks with subtasks that are very similar with possibly only one part different but we have to create the entire task including all the subtasks from the beginning. Even with copy and pasting this is VERY unproductive. A simple "DUPLICATE TASK" option should be added so the tweaks can be made from the copy before saving.116 votes
We’ve kicked off design for a feature that includes this functionality.
We would like our in house system to talk to Flow and be able to search for, create, delete, and modify tasks.534 votes
We’ve started work in earnest on this. We’ll update you when there’s something to show.
Would be great to be able to route tasks in from Basecamp, Google tasks, CRM, Box.com and all the other places that feed us tasks. Zapier integration or maybe Piesync would accomplish that, thus making Flow the authoritative “task hub” on our team.55 votes
We’ve started preliminary work on this integration. I’ll let you know when this is live.
Hi! One of the tasks that we use Flow for is keeping track of accounts payable through each stage of the process. When setting payment due dates on invoices (which may be, for example, due in 30 days), it would be great to be able to see dates prior to the current date in the calendar - this would be super helpful, for example, when assigning due dates on an invoice that I might have received a few days earlier than I'm creating the task.1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion! That definitely sounds like a good use case for seeing past calendar dates.
I like the new sections. How about adding a way to code it into the email to flow system.5 votes
We’re testing this internally, should be ready soon.
Currently when a task is created, the assigned to defaults to the creator. It would be helpful to have a setting in Preferences to allow tasks to default to unassigned. Now, we have to click on each task to change the assignment
Most times we first brainstorm all the tasks and the person entering the tasks is acting as a scribe, not necessarily the person to complete the tasks.32 votes
We’ll be shipping this soon.
We really need to be able to *easily* move TASKS between teams - e.g. drag and drop them or select and change the team. This should be able to be locked down by user if they don’t have access to a team - but it’s too easy to create a task in the wrong team and then have to fiddle around to move it65 votes
Design is beginning on this next week.
It would be nice if you could tick a project as 'completed'. Archive doesn't really make sense.4 votes
We’re making this change soon.

Subtasks are getting an overhaul right now.
I'm not asking for a complete API. Just send a POST/GET request when a task is created, changed or deleted. That would make possible for many developers integrate with other solutions.
Just to name it: Slack (witch you at Metalabs are familiar, i think) has a PERFECT api and so easy integration. Why don't you bring the same to Flow?47 votes
We’re actively working on this.
Generally when I am scanning the dashboard, it is to keep up to date with what others on my team are doing. It would be really helpful ti have a filter which does all activity except my own for that use case.18 votes
We’ve started work on a dashboard that is better at helping you process the tasks that need your attention. A bonus is that it not longer repeats what you know you said.
I wish you could search the dashboard for comments only. Even better would be only comments directed at you. That would really help!4 votes
We’re working on making it easier for you to process all of the tasks and comments that need your attention. Watch for it this summer!
It would be great to see what tasks I have coming up that will be due. that way I wouldn't have to go into the program just to see what three or four things I have due soon.6 votes
As the Teams Leader, I like to acknowledge completed tasks by "liking them". If I miss a day or two, It can be cumbersome to scroll through the dashboard to find all the completed tasks to like. Maybe there is a way you could make completed tasks stand out more, or filter the dashboard to see only content that has been liked/not liked.
We’ve started work on a simplified Dashboard that groups relevant activity and brings it to your attention in a way that’s easy to work through quickly. We’ll keep you updated.
Limit items on the dashboard to completed tasks, comments added to tasks, and task assignments (when a person is assigned a task, or ownership changes). Do not include new tasks that have been created. Recently I added 6 tasks to a project and they cluttered the dashboard. Dashboard should be a quick read.6 votes
We’ve started on a simplified Dashboard that’s easier to read and carries more relevant information.
We would like a way to look at a newsfeed of "My Tasks" of just the things that have been updated1 vote
We’re working on a more efficient way to process tasks that need your attention. Watch for it this summer! :)
Dashboard seems to be a total waste. It displays absolutely everything, regardless of whether it’s useful or not, which is not practical.
Dashboard should provide a general overview of ONLY RECENTY ACTIVITY, not EVERYTHING, including fully formatted long notes in comments (because there’s no way to create/edit text files in Flow).
Show ONLY what actually happened recently, i.e.:
“James commented on INSERT TASK NAME HERE.”
“James attached a file…”
“James completed…"13 votes
Dashboard improvements are actively in progress. We’ll let you know when we have something to show. Thanks for the suggestion!
