  1. Task start dates

Add an opportunity to give a task a Start Date, so that it will be hidden until then. This corresponds to the GTD "tickler file" for removing items from the inbox that do not need to be processed at the moment. Tasks could also be made to repeat based on start date or completion date rather than due date, as in OmniFocus.

Ok, big day. We’ve got an early release of some start dates features in the beta program for Pro users.

      Included in this release:
      1. Add a start date to a task
      2. View and edit Start & End Dates on the Task Profile Calendar & Team Workload Calendar
      3. Sort Lists and Projects by Start Date

You may see some “Coming Soon” screens in place of further timeline work that we’re doing, those features will be coming in a future release.

If you’re already in the beta program, go ahead and switch into the beta version of Flow in the main menu where it says “Switch to Flow Beta”

Here are some instructions to get set up.

If you’d like to check out start dates but aren’t a Pro user or a beta participant:

      1. Ask an Owner on your team to update your Plan to Pro in Billing…

    • Offline mode - especially in the app.

I live on planes without wifi. I'd love to be able to at least view existing, mark completed and add tasks while offline. When online, all the syncing and delegation happens. Please!!

Wanted to let y’all know that some of our earliest efforts at addressing offline access are available in the new iOS app.

        - The app is now accessible when offline
        - You can now access tasks that have been downloaded when offline.
        - You can create tasks when offline, and they’ll get synced when you’re back online.

The new app is a separate download from the old one, so you’ll need to either search for “Flow Tasks” or follow this link to get it:

        https://itunes.apple.com/app/flow-tasks/id1434889263

        Cheers!

      • Move tasks between teams

We really need to be able to *easily* move TASKS between teams - e.g. drag and drop them or select and change the team. This should be able to be locked down by user if they don’t have access to a team - but it’s too easy to create a task in the wrong team and then have to fiddle around to move it

        • Zapier integration so we can move tasks in from other systems without programming

Would be great to be able to route tasks in from Basecamp, Google tasks, CRM, Box.com and all the other places that feed us tasks. Zapier integration or maybe Piesync would accomplish that, thus making Flow the authoritative “task hub” on our team.

We’ve started preliminary work on this integration. I’ll let you know when this is live.

          • Time Tracking Integration

Flow currently support time tracking via Harvest. I would like to see integration with other time-tracking services, such as Paymo, Timecamp, or Toggl. Or better yet, build time tracking into Flow as a native feature, so that another tool is not required.

            • One-week view

The current Week view shows week after week, so it's more like a "months", or "weeks", view. Can we have a "single week" view, in order to focus on the current week and nothing else? It's my most used view on the current Flow.

              • Dashboard: Filter for all activity except my own

Generally when I am scanning the dashboard, it is to keep up to date with what others on my team are doing. It would be really helpful ti have a filter which does all activity except my own for that use case.

We’ve started work on a dashboard that is better at helping you process the tasks that need your attention. A bonus is that it not longer repeats what you know you said.

                • Dashboard should only summarise activity

Dashboard seems to be a total waste. It displays absolutely everything, regardless of whether it’s useful or not, which is not practical.

Dashboard should provide a general overview of ONLY RECENTY ACTIVITY, not EVERYTHING, including fully formatted long notes in comments (because there’s no way to create/edit text files in Flow).

Show ONLY what actually happened recently, i.e.:

“James commented on INSERT TASK NAME HERE.”

                  instead of

                  “James commented…”
                  “James attached a file…”
                  “James completed…"

Dashboard improvements are actively in progress. We’ll let you know when we have something to show. Thanks for the suggestion!

                  • Completely hide the "Add a project description" section

The "Add a project description" is taking a lot of space and is unnecessary for me. On the web version you can "Hide details" but it only slides to the left. On the mac app the "Hide details" doesn't work at all. Suggestion: Hide completely that section.

                    • Mark a Project as Completed

It would be nice if you could tick a project as 'completed'. Archive doesn't really make sense.

                      • Simplified dashboard

Limit items on the dashboard to completed tasks, comments added to tasks, and task assignments (when a person is assigned a task, or ownership changes). Do not include new tasks that have been created. Recently I added 6 tasks to a project and they cluttered the dashboard. Dashboard should be a quick read.

We’ve started on a simplified Dashboard that’s easier to read and carries more relevant information.

                        • Include tasks with upcoming due dates in the Daily Digest

It would be great to see what tasks I have coming up that will be due. that way I wouldn't have to go into the program just to see what three or four things I have due soon.

                          • Enhance new subtask feature / Filter same owner

                            Hi!
i like the new subtask features, but we definitly need one change:
Please don't show every subtasks in the lists, when the owner of subtask and parent task are the same. Our task lists are now crowded with subtasks. It's very confusing, because these subtasks often have the same name. Or no clear name without the context of the parent task.

I hope you can implement some kind of filter here, because my team members are pretty .. unhappy at the moment ;)

                            Cheers!

                            • Subtask organization in "assigned to me"

Hey I noticed that the new rules for subtasks has changed the way that you can view things in the "assigned to me'' section. There is no way to collapse the subtasks in that view. It is really frustrating. That is the section I mainly use to manage my daily tasks and it's now flooded with subtasks that are seemingly not even listed near their corresponding main tasks. Can you guys change that to be similar to how it works in calendar view? Thanks.

We’re working on a solution for making this more clear. Because parent task owners can be different from subtask owners we’re unable to nest subtasks in this view. But we think we’ve got a tweak that’ll make this thing a bit easier to parse. Hang tight.

                              • See only comments directed at you

I wish you could search the dashboard for comments only. Even better would be only comments directed at you. That would really help!

                                • Remember hide details as either open or closed

When you click "hide details" can you remember that setting? It seems in the past week it always defaults to open on every project, which takes up a lot of screen space.

                                  • Sort or Filter "My Tasks" to see which ones have updates

We would like a way to look at a newsfeed of "My Tasks" of just the things that have been updated

We’re working on a more efficient way to process tasks that need your attention. Watch for it this summer! :)

                                    • More than 4 favorites teams

Why can we just see 4 teams in the header?

It would be great if you allow more then 4 please!

                                      Thanks

                                      • Make it easier to find and Like completed Tasks

As the Teams Leader, I like to acknowledge completed tasks by "liking them". If I miss a day or two, It can be cumbersome to scroll through the dashboard to find all the completed tasks to like. Maybe there is a way you could make completed tasks stand out more, or filter the dashboard to see only content that has been liked/not liked.

                                        Thanks,

We’ve started work on a simplified Dashboard that groups relevant activity and brings it to your attention in a way that’s easy to work through quickly. We’ll keep you updated.

                                        • Only posted completed tasks to Slack channel

Really really loving Flow so far. Definitely summed up with the image on your landing page that the other PM tools are too light or total overkill.

One thing we would really like would be a setting that allows only _completed_ tasks to be posted to a Slack channel. This lets everyone know that people are being productive without junking up the channel too much with messages about tasks / dates being _created/set_

                                          Thanks!
