In previous iterations of the Flow app it was possible with a keyboard shortcut to add a new task immediately. The most recent release now requires switching the focus to the app before adding a new task. This makes it difficult to quickly add new tasks when working in other applications.28 votes
The various jobs (or projects in Flow-speak) that we work on could have anywhere from 1 to up to 50 pieces (or sections) with the same steps (or tasks). I’ve made a template for a project with one generic section but would love to be able to copy the section and tasks in that section.27 votes
We would like a way to see only the tasks that have comments that mention a specific person.25 votes
While we don’t plan to do this immediately, there is currently a workaround: try searching for the person’s name in the search bar, and you’ll be able to see all the tasks where they were mentioned in the search results.
Would be nice to be able to sort by "creation date"23 votes
Currently you can not move a Section into a new Project (acc to Support). Given that Sections are supersets of Tasks, being able to transfer them between projects would be very helpful. Dragging it would probably be the best way to do that.22 votes
This isn’t a feature that’s on our radar just yet, so thanks for the feedback! In the meantime, one easy way to move sections and/or the tasks in those sections over to new projects is to duplicate the project. This will carry over all the sections, tasks, and task assignees, but not due dates or comments. If you find yourself using the same sections over and over again, it might be helpful to create a project that functions just as a sections template. That way, when you need to create new projects that use those sections, you just need to duplicate the template and start adding tasks to the pre-populated sections. This article will walk you through the steps: https://www.getflow.com/support/projects/duplicating-projects/
Hopefully this will help a bit!
Unfortunately, now that tasks always have a prefix of "Private Tasks" in the calendar view, the view has become very unreadable.
Also, the requirement to always have a project with each tasks slows down entering tasks significantly.
These changes should be reverted.22 votes
I see what you’re saying – the project name (Private Task) listed with the task can look cluttered. The problem is that not including the project name can lead to confusion too. This is something we are not likely to change anytime soon but it does make sense to take a look at it in the future.
You cant have team chat without am easy way to share GIFs. We need a Giphy bot.22 votes
Thanks for the suggestion!
I like to keep "My Tasks" and "Calendar" in "Sort by Date" and "list" view respectively. However if I log out and back in (seems to happen on certain refreshes or submit errors as well) a bug maybe? it defaults to list views which I don't like personally. It's annoying to have to change these view settings at every login. Any chance of tweaking so that it remembers our user preferences?22 votes
Agreed that this would be an improvement. We’re putting it in our backlog, but don’t have immediate plans to work on it. Thanks!
A native Windows Phone 8 app would be great!22 votes
We have no plans for a dedicated Windows 8 app at this time. Our mobile web app will, however, become more powerful as time goes on.
I would like to be able to archive workspaces. We use a workspace for each client we work with. Once all current projects are complete I would like to be able to archive and not miss previous history of work if they client opens a new project.21 votes
Still a good idea! :) It’s in our backlog, but not in this year’s plans.
When performing a search, all related results are returned. Frequently, all we want to see is open tasks. It would be nice to have a way to exclude deleted or completed tasks from our search when we want to - advanced search options. Maybe it could include the ability to select a date range, attachments, people, tags? Thank you!21 votes
I can see how advanced search options would be helpful. We’d like to build this, we just don’t have immediate plans to do so.
Ideally a calendar view widget to add to home screen would be really useful.
A quick task creation widget would be useful, too.21 votes
Good idea! We’ll keep it in mind. No current plans to build it, though.
When pasting multiple lines in a list, create one task per new line. Makes it easier to add items from an IM conversation, email thread, or importing from other project management tools20 votes
We don’t have any near future plans for this specific feature.
I think it would be a good idea to have a option to display in the main task view the subtasks of each task just below each one, indented end with a smaller font and checkbox. This could be even an expandable list when clicked or hovered the task. For me this improvement would provide a better view of how complicated the task are and how much work remains to be done.
To visualize what I have in mind I attach a file with a simple and fast draw. I believe you will do it in a more elegant way.20 votes
We don’t have any plans to enhance subtasks in such a way at this point in time.
Would like to be able to choose which page I see by default when logging into Flow19 votes
While there isn’t a way to select a default on which to land each time you log into the app, the app will remember the last page you were on when you were last in the app. So if you spend a lot of time in one view (or all your time in one view) the app should drop you there each time you open Flow.
Whilst you're working on project and task templates, it would be great to be able to duplicate a group of projects.
I have clients on a monthly retainer and so have a project group called Retained Work, with a separate project for each month.
I'd love to be able to duplicate the Retained Work group, including all monthly projects, and move to the relevant client's workspace.18 votes
I can totally see how this would be a useful feature but because you can duplicate projects at this time, duplicating groups is not on our immediate road map though it is something we are considering!
One of the reasons i leave ASANA is because they cant provide this simple feature. If a project have 10 sections with 30 tasks, it is unmanageable.17 votes
It would be really great if you could click a button within a Flow task to create a new Google Doc (or sheet) — and have flow automatically update the task with a link to the new associated Google Doc.
Right now, we have to log in separately to Google, create a doc, update the doc's sharing permissions, and then copy and paste a link to the doc back into the flow task. A more native integration would save lots of time!17 votes
We’ll never rule this out, but this is not on our immediate roadmap.
When forwarding an email from Gmail - it'd be great to have a link back to the original Gmail message. Given that gmail messages all have their own URL this could be feasible (?). This would be great for those tasks where you want someone else to respond to an enquiry etc.
...or maybe for extra points: be able to compose a reply directly in Flow. That'd be awesome17 votes
As cool as that would be, we don’t have plans to improve our Gmail integration in that way.
I am not sure why but I don't see any subtasks I complete in the dashboard. Because we use the subtask feature a lot, it's a shame not to see it in the dashboard.16 votes
We don’t currently have any plans to include subtask activity in the Dashboard.
- Don't see your idea?
